Top Pick: Breathing Center

Sleep Detective’s TOP pick for your Buteyko learning experience is the Breathing Center, located in Colorado. They offer an international online school which represents and follows official standards from the Buteyko Clinic in Moscow as well as the actual patent holder of the Buteyko Method!

This earns them a coveted 10 out of 10 for accreditation; it really doesn’t get more legit than that! I felt most comfortable with a highly accredited school, so when I wanted to start learning Buteyko I knew exactly where I wanted to go. I enrolled in the entry level Breathing Normalization course and was only able to do an 8 second controlled breathing pause (the goal is 40+ seconds).

I can currently hold my breath for around 20 seconds, which is a drastic improvement! You’ll get 10 sessions which run weekly, each taking around 90 minutes or so. I really like the length of this course, as most experts agree you don’t get much value out of Buteyko unless you stick with it for quite some time. It gets an 8.5 out of 10 for value since it’s pricey but worth it!

I really like that you can choose your breathing coach at this company as it allows you to do your research and find someone you’re comfortable with. I chose Sasha, and she was great! I give them a 9 out of 10 for services offered since they have so many different levels of course and so many instructors to choose from.

Runner Up: Learn Buteyko

My runner-up pick is Learn Buteyko. They offer webinars almost daily in various time zones from New York to Sydney, meaning there will surely be one that fits your schedule.

They are a lot less expensive than other options on the list, but they do only offer 5 sessions in their beginner class which earns them an 8 out of 10 for value. As mentioned above, it really takes several months to get the most out of your Buteyko training, but if you’re just looking to get your feet wet this is a great choice.

I gave them an 8.5 out of 10 for services offered since they have so many class times, difficulty levels, and more to choose from. There is really something for everyone. They also get a 9.5 out of 10 for accreditation since they offer a slew of credentialed practitioners that you can search from their website.

Best Budget Option: Myofunctional Partners

Myofunctional Partners is my best budget pick since they offer a much more clinical or medical Buteyko experience for a relatively low price. Their price also includes 6 months of support, which is great because Buteyko is always a long learning process. I give them a 9.5 out of 10 for value!
