If you’re shopping for new bed sheets, you may be asking yourself, “what is the big deal with Egyptian Cotton?” and “are they worth the price?”. Keep reading for my complete review!
Should you buy a set of True Luxury Egyptian cotton bedsheets?
Yes. If you are looking to invest in Egyptian Cotton sheets, the sheet set by True Luxury is a great deal. These sheets are soft, comfortable, durable, and come in an array of sizes and colors. An added benefit is that True Luxury sheets are eco-friendly and free from harmful chemicals, so they are great for sensitive skin.
Pure Egyptian Cotton
At first, I was skeptical if Egyptian Cotton bed sheets were any better than other sheets I have used in the past, however I was pleasantly surprised. Egyptian cotton is softer, finer, and lasts longer than any other cotton.
The True Luxury bed sheet set is made with 100% pure Egyptian cotton. These sheets have an impressive 1,000 thread count which makes them feel luxurious and high quality. True Luxury weaves their sheets with 100% combed compact yarn. This eliminates short fiber surfaces and impurities so the sheets will feel smoother and softer and last longer.
What is a Sateen Weave?
True Luxury sheets feature a Sateen Weave finish. This means that one vertical thread is woven for every four horizontal threads. This makes the sheets look silky like satin, but they still feel breathable and natural!
All Natural
I have sensitive skin so the fact that True Luxury’s sheets are all natural is very important to me. These sheets are 100% eco-friendly, sustainable, and chemical free. They are Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex certified so I know that they are tested and were certified to be free from over 100 different harmful substances.

Size and Color Options
True Luxury sheets come in a variety of color and size options. They are offered in six different sizes:
- Twin
- Full
- Queen
- King (6-piece set including two extra pillowcases)
- Standard king
- California King
They also come in an array of gorgeous, vibrant colors sure to match any bedroom décor. I selected silver and the color in person was just as shown online.
Every standard set includes four pieces- a fitted sheet, a top sheet, and two pillowcases. The fitted sheets have four-way elastic corners and deep pockets. For the Queen, King, and California King, these sheets can snugly fit a mattress up to 17 inches deep. The Full and Twin size fitted sheets fit a 16-inch-deep mattress.
One detail of this sheet set I really liked the was the 4-inch hem on the pillowcases and flat sheet. It makes the sheets look classy, neat, and expensive.
How to Care for Your Egyptian Cotton Sheets
I strongly recommend washing your sheets before using them. When they first come out of the package, they have a bit of a chemical smell which is to be expected from a new product. The smell disappears after washing.
I learned that with Egyptian Cotton sheets, they can be a little rough to start out and actually get softer after they are washed. These sheets can be machine washed and it is recommended to use warm or cold water. Do not use bleach.
When drying these sheets, do NOT use high heat. These should be tumble dried on low. If you like your bed to look neat, remove the sheets when they are done drying or they will wrinkle if left in the dryer. These sheets tend to wrinkle a little more than a regular cotton or microfiber sheet. However, you can safely iron these sheets on low heat if you would like.

Related Questions:
Does Higher Thread Count Mean Thicker Sheets?
Not necessarily. Higher thread count sheets are made with finer yearns that are woven more densely to produce a smoother, more durable fabric. The more yarns that fit into a square inch, the better-quality sheet you will have. It will not necessarily be a thicker sheet, but it will be denser than a lower thread count sheet.
Are Egyptian sheet the best?
Egyptian cotton is a very high-quality product, so it produces very luxurious sheets. Egyptian cotton is naturally silkier and smoother than regular cotton and provide cooling qualities that lower quality sheets lack. Deciding what sheets are best for you is a personal decision but Egyptian Cotton sheets are considered the most luxurious bedding.
Why Are My Egyptian Cotton Sheets Not Soft?
Egyptian cotton tends to get softer with washing a wear over time. When they are new and straight out of packaging, they can feel rough and stiff. This may be due to the way they were packaged. Egyptian Cotton sheets are known to be some of the softest sheets on the market, so if yours feel a little rough in the beginning, give them some time.
